F7's 4th ever WAN party has come and gone and hopefully you guys enjoyed it as much as we did. I don't know about you guys but I only got two hours of sleep before I had to drive to the airport so it was a rough night. On top of the hours of gaming we also gave away over three hundred dollars worth of prizes. So once again here is the list of winners from last nights WAN.

Since we just reset the stats last night I'm going to gloss over our weekly stats and player of the week for this week. This will give you a full week on the reset stats to make your mark before I start the Player of the Week contest again.

Ph34rbot will be running a custom map L4D2 event August first and I would like to invite all of you to join him. Due to our traditional Atlanta Summer LAN being pushed back to this Winter, F7Lans is going to be hosting one of our infamous WAN Parties again this month! Come join us in our nation-wide LAN Party taking place in your own basement. Experience it again for the first time!

Wait don't you mean LAN? What is a WAN party?
As you all should know, LAN stands for Local Area Network. It is used to describe a closed network of computers in the same physical location. WAN stands for Wide Area Network, and describes a closed network of computers spread across several physical locations. Our WAN Party is for all of our Supporters, Members and Regulars to game together even if we can't be together.

So... what makes this different than normal playing?
We will be hosting F7 Radio through Vent, and we will be giving away prizes all night long. Giveaways will be based on in-game events such as MVP or winning team in CS:S, and even just random giveaway drops to people in our servers.

Playing on A/D Classic? GIVEAWAY
Killing some floors at F7? GIVEAWAY
Top frag in pubs? GIVEAWAY
Crafting some items to try and get a Golden Wrench even though that is over and all you get is some boring Reclaimed Metal? GIVEAWAY

Sounds cool! What do I do?
Get your friends together and have a LAN party! Our hope is to get as many groups of people across the country to be having their own LAN parties, and combining the collective player base into one large WAN. We already have at least one in Atlanta! The more people having LAN Parties, the better. Alcohol is encouraged (but only if you are 21 and older)!

On the night of the event, you need to be listening to F7 Radio! We will be announcing all of our giveaway times and locations through Ventrilo F7 Radio. Be sure you are listening in so you know where to be and how to win!

And remember, our servers are going to be slam packed the night of the event. If you have not already done so, donate today to get a Reserved Slot. Having a Reserved Slot is the ONLY WAY to guarantee your way into a full server the night of the WAN Party.

So how can you get in on this action?

First you need to join our vent. Connect to alltalk.f7lans.com port 5010. Join us in our WAN Party '10 channel. Next you need to be able to hear f7 radio. All of our prizes will be announced via F7 radio and the only way to win is to get involved. Right click on the F7 Radio channel and go to miscellaneous. Inside miscellaneous click add/remove phantom and your good to go. Periodically throughout the night I will be announcing when and where a giveaway is going to go down via F7 radio. All you need to do to win is hear the announcement and get in the server. Simple as that.

We will also be turning New York into Supporter/Member Only!. A great percentage of our giveaways will be done in this server. So the only way to win is to become a supporter. Visit this page and follow the easy to read instructions and you too can become a supporter. This is an automated process so it isn't to late to secure your reserved slot and get a chance at winning some fantastic prizes.

NOTE: Follow these instructions to the letter. This process is 100% automated and will take place upon map change so long as you do everything right. Please include your STEAM ID when instructed to do so. This is your actual steam ID and not your user name. We will be having a lot on our plates tonight and the only way to guarantee your reserve slot working when you need it is to follow the directions carefully.

Alrighty, I am finally ready to announce (or better yet confirm) that we will be holding an F7 lans Summer WAN party this weekend!



Due to our Summer LAN being canceled we have decided to bring the excitement strait to you in the comfort of your own home. So what does this mean for you? Well get out there and plan a LAN in your area. Invite your friends, your friends friends, and even your enemies. Then play with us on our various servers during the night. Did I mention that I will be giving away countless prizes all night long? We will be hosting F7 Radio in Vent and be announcing our giveaways all night long. It will be a night filled with fragging, laughter, booze, and debauchery. Remember, the servers will be jam packed all night. The only way to guarantee yourself a spot in the fun and a chance to win some fantastic prizes is to have yourself a reserved slot. And of course the only way to get yourself a reserved slot is to donate. Make sure you donate ahead of time to make sure your reserved slot takes effect by the time the festivities kick off.

Ok, so this post is a tad late. Blame it on the world cup, increasing hours doing research, and the TF2 update. In case you have been living under a rock the Engineer update has launched and been a great success. Unfortunately Valve has decided not to include my submission for an Engie unlock.



Robbin Walker informed me that my upgrade would be overpowered, but I think he was just upset he didn't think it up first!

I am also currently working on trying to get a WAN party organized. This is our way of trying to make up for the Summer LAN being scrapped and will allow for some great fun, and some fantastic giveaways. We are currently looking at holding it Saturday July 24th from 9pm EST until Sunday July 25th at 3am. This is not quite official yet and we will let you know in the event that these dates and times change. Visit this thread for up to date information regarding the WAN. We will be giving away tons of prizes during the WAN to our participants. If you have not done so already, or your supporter status has lapsed, now would be a prime time to donate to ensure you will have supporter status come the WAN. Supporter will be the only way to grantee you will be able to get a slot in our servers and the only way to guarantee yourself the best chance of winning a prize.

As with the release of any major content patch there are bound to be a few bugs and exploits that need to be worked out. I would like to take this time to remind all of our members and regulars that the use or exploitation of ANY exploit for ANY reason is in violation of our server rules. Such behaviors and actions can and will result in a permanent ban from all f7 servers.
